The welcome letter I provided to parents and guardians demonstrates my competency in professional communication with students' families by establishing a positive and collaborative relationship from the outset. This letter is crafted with a warm, inclusive tone and communicates my qualifications, teaching philosophy, and commitment to supporting students. By introducing myself as a student teacher and highlighting my educational background in math and science, as well as my experience in special education classrooms, I build trust and credibility with families. 

The letter also invites open communication by providing contact information and encouraging parents and guardians to share insights about their child. This establishes a foundation for a strong home-school partnership, which research shows is critical to improving student outcomes. Parents who feel informed and valued are more likely to engage actively in their child's education, which positively impacts the student's confidence and academic success. 

Proposed Modifications:
To enhance the artifact’s effectiveness, I would modify it by including specific examples of how families can support their child's learning at home, such as strategies for reinforcing math concepts or encouraging organization and study habits. 

Additionally, I would incorporate a brief section introducing the structure of Tutorial and how it supports student success, to provide clarity for families unfamiliar with the resource room program.
